“On December 20 [1992], [FBI informant Garrett] Wilson met with [future World Trade Center bombing conspirators Clement] Hampton-El and [Yaya abu] Ubaidah in an apartment in Jersey City [New Jersey]. Hampton-El wanted Wilson to train eight to ten men for an international jihad battalion. …He said that he would provide AK-47s for the training sessions but that he was also looking for remote-detonator caps and clean guns. …The group would be shipped off to Bosnia. …it occurred to Wilson that the type of instruction requested–sniper firing and frontal assaults on buildings–was also compatible with terrorist operations in a U.S. city.”
