3. Biography Robert “Bob” Baer is an American journalist and author. He is the Intelligence Columnist for, and regularly contributes articles to many publications. 

He has written four books on U.S.-Middle East affairs, pulling much of his information from many years of experience working as a CIA case officer assigned to the Middle East. He is fluent in Arabic, Persian, French, German, Russian, and English, and he is conversant in Chinese.
