3. Biography Robert “Bob” Baer is an American journalist and author. He is the Intelligence Columnist for Time.com, and regularly contributes articles to many publications. 

He has written four books on U.S.-Middle East affairs, pulling much of his information from many years of experience working as a CIA case officer assigned to the Middle East. He is fluent in Arabic, Persian, French, German, Russian, and English, and he is conversant in Chinese.
