3. Biography:

Professor Peter Margulies is an expert in National Security Law and is currently teaching Immigration Law, National Security Law and Professional Responsibility at the Roger Williams University School of Law (RWU).

His areas of focus include issues of liberty, equality, and security surrounding issues of law and terrorism. Professor Margulies has written several articles on the War on Terror, and is currently working with RWU law professors and litigators from the law firm Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge in representing two Afghan detainees.

His background in immigration law has also led him to represent Haitian refugees and provide outreach to community legal service providers. He has worked on high-profile cases with the U.S. Supreme Court and writes articles for The New York Times, the National Law Journal, and other media.

He is the author of the newly released book Law’s Detour: Justice Displaced in the Bush Administration.
