Peter Bergen is a New York Times best-selling author and CNN’s National Security Analyst. From 1985-1990, Bergen was a journalist for ABC News. As a producer for CNN in 1997, Bergen conducted Osama bin Laden’s first television interview. After leaving CNN in 1999, he wrote 2001’s Holy War, Inc.: Inside the Secret World of Osama bin Laden, which has been translated into 18 languages. Bergen has written about national security issues such as counterterrorism, homeland security, and al Qaeda for a variety of publications including The New York Times, Time magazine, Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal. He serves on the Editorial Board of Studies in Conflict & Terrorism and the National Security Preparedness Group. Bergen has taught at the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University and the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He held a fellowship at New York University’s Center on Law and Security and is currently the Schwartz Senior Fellow at New America Foundation. |
