Jonathan C. Randal, born in 1933 in Buffalo, New York, was educated at Harvard University. His career as a foreign correspondent and author has spanned over 40 years. During his junior year at Harvard University, he served as a private in the U.S. Army in France. After graduating Harvard University in 1951, Randal began his work as a journalist in Paris with the Paris Herald. Upon his return to the U.S., he worked with Time magazine and The New York Times before being hired at The Washington Post. His career as Middle East correspondent with The Washington Post spanned over 30 years. Over his career as a foreign correspondent, he has reported many important events including the Algerian War of Independence, wars and crises in Kurdistan, Iran, Lebanon, Bosnia, Liberia, and many others. |
