3. Biography:

Jamie Gorelick began her career as a litigator in Washington, D.C., before working in the public sector as Assistant and Counselor to the Deputy Secretary of Energy, then as General Counsel for the Department of Defense.

Gorelick was one of the longest serving Deputy Attorneys General of the United States (1994-1997), the second highest position in the Department of Justice. She was chosen to serve on commissions under President Bill Clinton and President George W. Bush.

Gorelick was the Vice Chair of Fannie Mae, the Federal National Mortgage Association, from 1997 to 2003. Following that, she began working as a litigator at WilmerHale Law Firm. She is currently representing BP in congressional inquiries regarding the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico that occurred on Apr. 20, 2010.
