In August 1998, “…both the FAA [Federal Aviation Administration] and the Bureau [FBI] picked up information that unidentified Arabs were planning to fly ‘an explosive-laden plane’ from an unnamed country into the World Trade Center. The FAA reportedly found the plot ‘highly unlikely given the state of the foreign country’s aviation program,’ and the FBI’s New York office filed the intelligence away without taking action.” [The 15th of the month used for date sorting purposes only.]
