From a July 15, 2007 article in The Los Angeles Times: “According to U.S. estimates for 2007, at least 45 percent of the foreign fighters in Iraq came from Saudi Arabia and were the ones most frequently involved in suicide attacks. [An Associated Press story two days later said] Iraqi sources put the figure even higher, reporting that nearly half the foreign detainees in Iraq were Saudi citizens.”
