“One success in the government’s War on Terror appears to have been a conviction in June 2003 of an Ohio trucker, Iyman Faris, an American citizen of Kashmiri birth who turned himself in to authorities in March 2003. Faris admitted visiting an al-Qaeda training camp in Afghanistan, meeting Osama bin Laden, and carrying out preliminary ‘casing’ work in the United States to provide information relating to a possible attack on the Brooklyn Bridge using a blowtorch. After pleading guilty Faris was sentenced to twenty years in prison.” [The 15th of the month used for date sorting purposes only.]
