“…on April 28, 2004, the CBS News show 60 Minutes II aired the first graphic photos taken by American soldiers tormenting detainees in Abu Ghraib [prison in Iraq]. …The photos depicted American soldiers grinning and giving thumbs-up signs as naked and hooded Iraqi prisoners were forced to perform simulated sex acts, wear leashes, pile into human pyramids, cower in front of vicious-looking dogs, and, in one iconic image, stand hooded with arms outstretched on a box and [with] electrical wires attached.”
