On April 14, 1993, “two Iraqi nationals, Raad al-Asadi and Wali al-Ghazali, plotted to kill [former President George H.W.] Bush while he was visiting Kuwait. The Kuwaitis captured the two before they could carry out their plan and handed them over to the FBI. Under interrogation, they admitted that Iraqi intelligence agents had supplied them with a car bomb to kill the president.”
