In a March 11, 2002, press conference at 10 Downing Street after meeting with Vice President Dick Cheney, U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair said: ” ‘Let’s be under no doubt whatever, Saddam Hussein has acquired weapons of mass destruction over a long period of time. He’s the only leader in the world that’s actually used chemical weapons against his own people. He is in breach of at least nine UN Security Council resolutions about weapons of mass destruction.’ Blair concluded, ‘That there is a threat from Saddam Hussein and the weapons of mass destruction that he has acquired is not in doubt at all.’ ”
