Iraqi National Congress leader “Ahmed Chalabi, who had done so much to popularize the concept of Saddam’s WMD arsenal, later blithely conceded that he had been totally wrong, but felt there was nothing of which he need be ashamed. ‘We are heroes in error,’ he told Britain’s Daily Telegraph [on February 19, 2004]. ‘As far as we’re concerned we’ve been entirely successful. That tyrant Saddam is gone and the Americans are in Baghdad. What was said before is not important.’ “
