In Iraq, “in the second half of 2007, U.S. combat deaths declined steadily. After peaking in May at 126, there were 93 KIAs [killed in actions] in June, when the surge troops all were in the country, then 66 in July, 55 in August, and–eventually–just 14 in December.” [The 31st of the month used for date sorting purposes only.]
