“An Iraqi lieutenant general, also made available by the Iraqi National Congress, spoke to Frontline and the New York Times on November 6, 2001. He claimed to have observed training by Iraqi intelligence of small groups of non-Iraqi Arabs [at the Salman Pak military facility near Baghdad in 1995]. ‘I was the security officer in charge of the unit. And through my responsibility for the security of the units and the camp itself, I’ve noticed that the Arab units remained there for a period of approximately five months before they left. And I saw a similar unit engaged in similar training during 2000.’ ”
