Former Iraqi general Georges Sada wrote: “In November 1990 I made a frightening discovery: Saddam had ordered the [Iraqi] air force to begin planning for a major aerial assault against Israel. If the Americans were going to attack and force him to give up Kuwait, he said, then our pilots would be ready to attack Israel as soon as the first rockets hit, and they would extract a heavy price.
