“…the threat posed by Saddam and his WMD… produced a strong bipartisan vote on October 11, 2002, on the use-of-force resolution, with 110 Democrats and 263 Republicans in the House and Senate voting for it and only 149 Democrats and 7 Republicans opposing it. The vote in the House was 296-133 in favor and in the Senate 77-23. Of the 110 Democrats who voted for the use-of-force resolution in the House and Senate, sixty-seven asserted in statements delivered before the vote that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.”
