3. Biography:

James Risen is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American journalist.  He currently writes for The New York Times, and previously worked as a correspondent and journalist for the Los Angeles Times

He won the Pulitzer Prize Award in 2006 for a series of reports co-authored with fellow Journalist Eric Lichtblau about the National Security Agency’s surveillance of international communications and about the government’s Terrorist Finance Tracking Program.
  
He has written many articles concerning U.S. government activities, and is the author of two books about the CIA, and a book about the U.S. abortion debate.
